Please join us for Parkland Institute's 15th Annual Fundraising Gala Dinner & Silent Auction.
The evening will feature a three-course dinner and a silent auction. When you register, you can choose if you would prefer Chicken Riviera with mushroom sauce or a vegetarian lasagna for your main course. As always, we promise a great evening of food and friends to celebrate and support the work of Parkland Institute.
Our annual gala and silent auction is Parkland’s most important fundraiser of the year. Please help us make this event the largest and best-attended gala ever by encouraging your colleagues, friends, and family to join you at your table.
If you aren't able to attend, please help us spread the word and consider making a donation or participating in our online silent auction that will run from May 9th to May 19th.
Parking is available at the event for a flat $5.50 rate.
Order your ticket
Tickets are $160 per person, which includes $60 to cover the cost of the meal and a minimum donation of $100 to Parkland Institute.
You may also choose to donate a higher amount—the more, the merrier! A tax receipt will be issued for the amount that you donate above the cost of the meal.
Individuals—Individuals can sign up online. You will be issued your tax receipt from the University of Alberta at the end of the year. Important note: During the online registration process, on the "Check Out" screen, you’ll be prompted to "Make a Gift" to Parkland Institute. Please note that we require a minimum $100 donation for this event, so it’s very important not to leave this field blank.
Organizations—Organizations or any groups that don’t require a tax receipt can order individual tickets or book a table of 8 for $1,200 by downloading the ticket order form and mailing it to our office by May 13 to 1-12 Humanities Centre, University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, T6G 2E5. Tables of 8 are $1,200 and tables of 6 are $900. Please make cheques payable to "University of Alberta / Parkland Institute."
Our silent auction has started!
Our online silent auction is already open! Go to the auction webpage now and bid on your favourite items. You’ll be able to bid all the way through 8:30 pm on May 19.
As the silent auction will be held online, even if you can't come to the Gala dinner you can still support Parkland by bidding on auction items from the comfort of your home. But if you are coming to the dinner and would rather bid after you see the auction items in person, no problem: as always, we’ll have all items on display. We will also have a “bidding island” onsite with a few computers available for creating your account on the spot and instructions on how to get the auction website up and running on your phone.
Our supporters graciously provided items like beautiful pieces of pottery, silk scarves, art, and much more. For the travellers among us, there are also two gems not to be missed: a two-night stay for two at the Jasper Park Lodge and—hold your breath—a three-night stay for two at the Purcell Mountain Lodge… including the helicopter ride to take you there!

A special anniversary
The 2022 gala will also include a celebration of our former director Trevor Harrison’s 25 years with the Parkland Institute. Trevor was a founding member, the first research director, and the director of Parkland Institute from 2011 - 2021. He is best known for his studies in political sociology, political economy and public policy, and is the the author, co-author or co-editor of nine books, numerous journal articles, chapters, and reports, as well as a frequent contributor to public media, including radio and television.
We are very excited to finally meet you all in person again. At this point, the option of wearing or not a mask during the time you’re not eating is an individual choice. However, we do recommend mask use, as a means of making those more at risk comfortable about attending our event.
