Hailing from a wide-ranging background in mathematics, physics and moral philosophy, Joe Brewer has focused on the study of cognitive science and linguistics, including studying with Mark Johnson—a co-author with George Lakoff on two books. Mr. Brewer has a special interest and expertise in the framing of global warming issues. In addition to his background in the physical sciences, Joe has gained valuable experience in education while working as a consultant to develop a four-year undergraduate program that brings an innovative, strongly interdisciplinary philosophy to the scientific and human dimensions of environmental studies.
